Awards
Actually it all started in 1998 when Richard and Anne
were named Washington County Tree Farmers of the Year. An honor also received
by Anne's father Byron Doneen in 1990. It continued with them being named
Oregon State Tree Farmers of the Year in 1999. Then in 2000 they were
named Regional Tree Farmers of the Western region of the United States.
This gave them a chance for the National Award. At the National Tree farmer
convention in Missoula, Montana (September 2000) Richard and Anne were
honored but a couple from South Carolina received the national recognition.
All these hours lead to a little bit of work which included hosting a
field day on the tree farm in August 2000 with approximately 175 people
attending. Also during this time, Anne and Richard completed a nine month
Master Woodland Managers course through the Oregon State Extension Service
*and* managed to do some forestry work as well. - 2008 Site of the Field Day for the National Tree Farm Convention-Portland.
